Mental health and general health are both interrelated, generally when one is affected then symptoms will be suffered by the other.

Understanding ones health problems, how they are caused, what is the best form of treatment etc. can be a daunting and harrowing task. With many opinions being offered from all sectors of the health care industry many with agendas and preconceived notions and prejudices.

All of this must be navigated at a time when one is at their most poorly. Often without support from friends and family people are often left to navigate the arena looking for answers alone.

Many people who are afflicted with chronic illnesses are also able to find support from other sufferers who share their experience, unlike family and friends who often without the common experience can sometimes lack understanding.
